Edwin Cordoba is the current Associate Director of Bands at Americas High School in El Paso, TX where he oversees the Symphonic Band, coaches the program’s brass ensembles, offers private brass instruction, sponsors a competitive Winterguard and Colorguard program, offers instructional support at two feeder programs (Drugan MS, and Clarke MS) and organizes a competitive 6A marching band program. He graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso in 2015 where he received his Bachelor’s of Music in Music Education and is currently pursuing his Master’s of Music in Music Education at UTEP. He has performance experience on the trombone with various UTEP ensembles, with the Juarez Symphony and has a small studio of trombone students. He holds experience with several DCI groups (Bluecoats and Carolina Crown), is on instructional Brass Staff with Horizon Drum and Bugle Corps and is a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. On his spare time he gigs with a local Salsa group called “Sobredosis del Sabor”, works out and spends time with his family and chihuahua named Travis.
